Empathy Cafe: A Compassionate Communication Playshop

February 25, 2023 @ 6:00 pm 7:30 pm EST

Deep listening is the kind of listening that can help relieve the suffering of another person. You can call it compassionate listening. You listen with only one purpose: to help him or her to empty his heart.”
Thich Nhat Hanh

The Empathy Cafe offers an experiential learning opportunity focusing on one of the main components of Compassionate Communication.

Empathy is one of the most valuable gifts we possess as humans, the ability to listen deeply to others and to be deeply heard and understood without judgment.

1-2 hrs in length depending on the number of people and life-energy present.

This event is offered freely for you to derive some value and benefit. If you feel joy contributing, your gift is appreciated and helps supports Full Circle Peace in offering sessions that are available to everyone regardless of resources.

“Empathy is a respectful understanding of what others are experiencing. Instead of offering empathy, we have a strong urge to give advice or reassurance and to explain our own position or feeling. Empathy, however, calls upon us to empty our mind and listen to others with our whole being.”
Marshall B. Rosenberg, founder of the Center for Nonviolent Communication.
