My lifelong pursuit of creativity has given me opportunities to explore many mediums, methods and techniques. I have utilized my skills to design album covers and metal art, paint murals, draw commissioned portraits, and create many forms of decorative art. I have been employed as a photographer, a portrait touch-up artist, and ran a custom framing business.

Currently, I am learning fluid art techniques to express myself through abstract art in both fine art and applied art forms. Whether viewing natural or man-made scenery, my dominant left brain continually searches for what it perceives as balance, structure and order. I find beauty in what others may find ordinary. The silhouette of a tree against the dark blue night sky never ceases to hold my attention. I am inspired by the contrast of technical elements against a natural backdrop and I seek to recreate that in my art.
Being practical by nature, I am also interested in combining the beauty of art with the functionality of everyday objects. In developing my skills with fluid acrylic techniques, I have discovered that this medium poses a confrontation with my sense of artistic stability; however, I am embracing this challenge. I am learning to collaborate and compromise with the paint to maintain the organic spontaneity of fluid acrylics while manipulating it enough to satisfy my need to create order. As with any of the mediums I have chosen to work with, I use fluid acrylics to satisfy my sense of logical beauty and hope the viewer can engage with my art in a way that is meaningful to them.
